Carnicure Your Ails

Carnicure is one naughty little kitty. In case you’ve been looking for it, Carnicure is the sweet spot between the ferocious dirtiness of Serge Lutens Muscs Kublai Khan, the smutty florals of Kiehl’s, and the milky innocence of Helmut Lang EDP. In other words, this one is not only gorgeous, not only elegant, but above all exceedingly sexy.

This is a ginormous powder poof, soft and edgeless. The animalics are gentle and ooze of a time before modern day restrictions. It’s a sensual mix, veiled in a hundred layers of translucence. With the most delicate hint of orange this perfume is really a powdery musk fog for the ages — and though it seems quite vintage at second and third whiffs, its rather of all time. With a dredged, dry vanilla exhalation this is a fragrance that practices something akin to the uninterrupted tone of circular breathing. As each cycle repeats, the sleepier it becomes – so my suggestion is this is likely best for night time wear. I cannot go without saying this immediately reminded me of my grandmother, not ‘old fashioned’, but more the essence of the long lost warm hug of matriarchal modernity. (85%)
